On May 6, 2025, Mr. Saeed Khatibzadeh, Deputy Minister and Head of the Center for Political and International Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met and held discussions with Mr. Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan for Political Affairs, in Baku.
During this meeting, Mr. Khatibzadeh, referring to the recent visit of the esteemed President of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Baku, stated: "Today, we are witnessing a new phase of will and action in Tehran-Baku relations, and we believe that comprehensive interactions between the two countries, especially cooperation in various political, scientific, research, economic, and trade sectors, alongside strengthening people-to-people connections, are of high importance."
Mr. Hajiyev also emphasized the important relations between the two brotherly and neighboring countries with a rich history and civilization, saying: "Dr. Pezeshkian's visit to Baku sent a clear message to all sectors of both countries on the path of full-scale expansion of relations towards reaching a strategic level. Important issues such as the North-South Corridor, cooperation in the fields of oil, gas, and electricity, and pursuing the idea of regional cooperation are on the agenda of relations."
