On May 6, 2025, Mr. Saeed Khatibzadeh, Deputy Minister and Head of the Center for Political and International Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, met with Mr. Shafiyev, Chairman of the Center of Analysis of International Relations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in Baku. During this meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation between the Center for Political and International Studies and the Center of Analysis of International Relations of the Republic of Azerbaijan was signed.

In the course of this meeting, the parties, referencing the recent visit of the esteemed President of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Baku, emphasized the importance of further strengthening and expanding friendly relations in all areas, particularly in the research and studies sectors.

Subsequently, Mr. Khatibzadeh, while expressing appreciation for the hospitality of the authorities of the Republic of Azerbaijan, announced the readiness of the Center for Political and International Studies to continue think tank interactions and hold joint meetings in Tehran and Baku.
