Dr. Saeed Khatibzadeh, the Head of the Center for Political and International Studies, traveled to Erbil, Iraq, and participated in the Erbil Forum 2025, where he delivered a speech. In his address, he elucidated the perspective of the Islamic Republic of Iran on regional developments, particularly concerning Syria, and elaborated on the relations between Iran and Iraq, including the Kurdistan Region.  Furthermore, he engaged with the attendees by answering their questions.

During his visit to Erbil, Dr. Khatibzadeh also held a meeting with Mr. Nechirvan Barzani, the President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Their discussions encompassed the robust relationship between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kurdistan Region, as well as opportunities for collaboration between think tanks.

The Erbil Forum took place from February 26th to 28th, 2025, and was attended by officials and experts from various countries across the region and the globe.
