Dr. Mohammad Hassan Sheikholeslami, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and President of the Institute for Political and International Studies, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, on the sidelines of the first round of the Yerevan Dialogue Forum, which opened on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, in Yerevan. In this meeting, Dr. Sheikholeslami conveyed the warm greetings of Foreign Minister Dr. Araghchi to the government and nation of Armenia and emphasized the will of the 14th government to maintain and develop the traditional policy of friendship and all-round cooperation with the neighboring and friendly country of Armenia. He also referred to the presence of Armenian academic and think tank delegations in Tehran in recent months and the holding of diplomatic training courses for young Armenian diplomats at the Institute for Political and International Studies and emphasized the readiness to develop cooperation in the field of think tank and education as well as historical documents.
Ararat Mirzoyan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, referring to the telephone conversation with the Foreign Minister of our country and stressing that he would like to meet the Foreign Minister of Iran at the earliest opportunity, emphasized the importance of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the foreign policy of Armenia and while emphasizing the positive role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the developments of the South Caucasus and appreciating the policies of our country in this area, he announced his readiness to strengthen cooperation in the field of think tanks and education as much as possible.
Dr. Sheikholeslami, who traveled to Armenia to participate in the Yerevan Dialogue Forum, explained the positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the South Caucasus during a speech at the special meeting of this forum.
