The national conference on US sanctions policies against the Islamic Republic of Iran (1980-2024) was held in collaboration with the Institute for Political and International Studies and Allameh Tabataba'i University on May 20, 2024. In this meeting, which was attended by professors of Allameh Tabataba'i University, University of Tehran, and senior experts of the Institute for Political and International Studies, various aspects of US sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran were discussed in terms of discourse, human rights, international law and finance affairs. The participants of the meeting believed that the category of US sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran is due to the conflict between the cognitive structure, awareness, and discourse of Iran and the US, which has shown itself in the form of US sanctions policies, considering the position and influence of this country in the international arena. In the said meeting, it was emphasized on the contradiction of unilateral US sanctions with the standards of human rights and international law.
