The international arena is experiencing challenging days, the main crises of which are related to the vital and geostrategic region of Eurasia in the triangle of Ukrainian, Gaza and the Red Sea. Meanwhile, different countries are trying to use the opportunity of important international meetings and conferences for diplomatic activism.

In this regard, the head of our country's diplomacy has traveled to Davos and New York in the past two weeks to explain the logical regional positions on important international issues, especially the defense of the Palestinian cause and the foreign policy priorities of the 13th government.

According to previous years, Davos 54 pays special attention to international transformations and challenges. Meanwhile, the critical situation in Gaza, the war in Ukraine, and the uncertainty in the transformations in the South Caucasus are more important. Therefore, negotiations to end the war in Gaza and shipping security in the Red Sea and Ukraine were on the agenda of the global elites. At the 54th Davos meeting, a number of political and geopolitical issues regarding the Gaza and Ukraine crises were discussed without the presence of Russian representatives because, for the majority of participants, the main and key priority is to face Russia and prevent the success of this country's army in the Ukraine war. Also, one of the important issues discussed in the 2024 meeting is the holding of elections in many important countries of the world, including the United States, Russia, the European Parliament, etc., which includes about 45% of the world's population. Undoubtedly, the results of the Russian and American presidential elections will have a decisive influence on regional and international transformations in the next few years.

Dr. Amir-Abdollahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, held important diplomatic meetings with dozens of European, Asian, African, etc. counterparts in Davos, including foreign ministers of British, Georgia, Saudi Arabia, Armenia, and Switzerland, which most of the discussions focused on defending the rights of the Palestinian people, stability and security in West Asia, and bilateral relations. In this regard, Iran's foreign minister, in his conversation with the new British foreign minister on January 17, expressed hope that London would help improve relations by taking a realistic and constructive approach to regional transformations and bilateral relations.

Amir-Abdollahian stressed to Cameron that the root of the Palestinian crisis is not the events of October 7 but the 75 years of occupation by the Israeli regime, its continuous violation of the fundamental rights of the Palestinians, the commission of war crimes in Palestine, and the genocide of this oppressed nation, which, of course, the role of English in these issues is clear. Condemning the use of double standards by America and some Western countries towards Gaza and Ukraine, he said: The Israeli regime cannot be allowed to commit massacres of women and children and genocide in Gaza and set the region on fire, but it considered the stopping of a Zionist ship in the Red Sea to jeopardize the security of this economic waterway.

Also, the foreign minister of our country went to the United Nations headquarters in continuation of the diplomatic consultations last week to exchange opinions with important international figures about the latest transformations in the international arena, including the triangle of Gaza, the Red Sea, and Ukraine, and above all, to defend the Palestinian cause. During his stay in New York, Amir-Abdollahian met and talked with the foreign ministers of Russia, France, Malaysia, and Lebanon, as well as Geir Pederson, the special representative of the UN Secretary-General on Syrian affairs, and spoke at the Security Council meeting about the Middle East.

Anyway, the transformations of the last month in the Middle East somehow promise the emergence of a new crisis in the first month of the new year AD, which somehow confirms the acceleration of the emergence of crises together with the speed of the development of human science and technical knowledge and distance from rationality and collective participation in global management In general, 2024 is an important election year, especially in Europe, America, Russia and even Ukraine, and public opinion in large areas of the world is dissatisfied with the performance of political leaders and the United Nations in preventing crises and finding solutions to existing wars, and it is not known whether the Davos meeting will be able to encourage voters to participate in the ballot boxes?

The fact is that the transformations of the last few years show the weakness of global management and international order in preventing and finding solutions for important crises, and what the past years have shown us is that the world is not resistant to threats and geopolitical risks around the world have been exacerbated in recent years by Russia's war in Ukraine, Israel's war with Hamas militants, and recent impacts related to shipping in the Red Sea. The important issue is that the United Nations has performed poorly in fulfilling its basic responsibility of preventing war and crime and finding solutions to important international and interstate crises, especially in the third millennium, and has not been able to present an acceptable record to the global public opinion.

The fact is that the world in the current period of transition and in the struggle of competition and coercion of great and regional powers more than ever needs to refer to human rationality and belief and collective participation to pass the current difficult stage. At the same time, blowing new energy into the bodies of international organizations, especially the United Nations, is vital and necessary more than ever before to play a more prominent role in establishing international peace and stability. Of course, it must be acknowledged that some actions and statements of the Secretary General of the United Nations, as well as the holding of a recent meeting on the issue of ending the Gaza crisis, are a forward-looking and somewhat hopeful action regarding the role of this organization. The last word is that it is not a secret that the public opinion of the world, in response to the crimes of the Zionist regime, has fully highlighted its vigilance and awareness combined with human conscience, and, in a sense, they have overtaken statesmen and politicians.
