The scientific meeting on the necessity of jurisprudence in foreign policy was held with the presence of Dr. Sheikholeslami, the head of the Institute for Political and International Studies, managers and senior experts of the Institute for Political and International Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the speech of Hujjat al-Islam Wal-Muslimeen Safdari and Hujjat al-Islam Wal-Muslimeen Mousavi on August 23, 2023.
At the beginning of this meeting, there was a discussion about the necessity of jurisprudence in foreign policy and the formulation of Islamic international relations, which is about the theory of desirable or native international relations that is influenced by the beliefs of Islam and relies on it. In this regard, it was stated that the Qom Seminary intends to organize a Foreign Policy Jurisprudence conference in the autumn of 2023 in cooperation with universities, some institutions, and research centers.
The topics discussed in the conference will be: What factors distinguish the theory of Islamic international relations from other theories? What are the definitions of the theory of Islamic international relations or the theory of Islamic foreign policy of the basic concepts of international relations such as balance of power, order, polarity, etc.? Is international relations jurisprudence and foreign policy jurisprudence the same as the theory of Islamic international relations?
It was also emphasized that the goal of Qom Seminary in organizing the foreign policy jurisprudence conference is the link between jurisprudence and expertise because, due to the existence of some gaps in foreign policy, a systematic design of Islamic foreign policy thought in the diplomatic system is necessary. Therefore, discourse creation in foreign policy jurisprudence and the link between jurisprudence and expertise should be on the agenda of cooperation between the Seminary and universities and institutes of study centers.
