On Monday, March 10, 2025, a specialized meeting of senior experts from the Center for Political and International Studies was held at the Center. The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Mr. Saeed Khatibzadeh, the esteemed Head of the Center, and was coordinated by the Human Rights and Women's Studies Group on the occasion of the anniversary of the adoption of the international resolution combating Islamophobia. This marks the second consecutive year that such a meeting has been convened under this title.

March 15, 2025, is the anniversary of the adoption of the international resolution against Islamophobia. This resolution was adopted by consensus in the United Nations General Assembly in 2022. The reason for choosing March 15th dates back to the same day in 2019, when two mosques in New Zealand were attacked, resulting in the deaths of 51 Muslims. The Islamic Republic of Iran, along with Pakistan, Qatar, Turkey, Algeria, and Indonesia, spearheaded the negotiations. The resolution was adopted with 113 votes in favor, 44 abstentions, and no votes against. In presenting this resolution to the United Nations, Islamic countries called for coordinated action to combat the ongoing violence against Muslims. Considering that Muslims currently constitute 1.8 billion of the world's population, attention to this issue is of significant importance.

At the meeting on Monday, Hojjat al-Islam wal-Muslimin Dr. Masjed Jamei, a respected faculty member of the School of International Relations, and Dr. Mohsen Ghane'i, the esteemed Head of the Department for the Development of Human Rights Obligations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, were invited to deliver speeches.
