Representative of the Center for Studies Attends the 16th Meeting of the Al Jazeera Center for Studies in Qatar
The Al Jazeera Center for Studies in Qatar convened its 16th Dialogue Forum entitled From the Gaza War to Change in Syria with the participation of Sheikh Hamad bin Thamer Al Thani Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Jazeera Network Alvin Botes Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa and elites from the Middle East region on February 15th and 16th 2025.
The Al Jazeera Center for Studies in Qatar convened its 16th Dialogue Forum, entitled "From the Gaza War to Change in Syria," with the participation of Sheikh Hamad bin Thamer Al Thani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Jazeera Network, Alvin Botes, Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa, and elites from the Middle East region, on February 15th and 16th, 2025. The forum was held over two days and encompassed seven working sessions.
The most important titles and topics raised in these sessions were:
- The situation in Gaza, post-war challenges
- The Middle East in the face of new balances
- Regime change in Syria: consequences within the country and the region
- War strategies in the region
- The state of the international system in the shadow of the new US administration
- Protest movements and global solidarity
- Transitional justice in post-war countries: opportunities and challenges
Mr. Mojtaba Ferdosipour, representative of the Center for Political and International Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended the forum. In his remarks, he elaborated on the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the Gaza war and subsequent developments in Syria. While emphasizing comprehensive support for the Resistance, he pointed to the necessity of adopting an Arab-Islamic coalition strategy in shaping a new regional balance in opposition to the American-Zionist axis.
