A delegation from the Institute for Political and International Studies participated in the Yerevan Dialogue Forum that was held on Tuesday, the 10th, and Wednesday, the 11th of September, in this city. Dr. Mohammad Hassan Sheikholeslami, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and President of the Institute for Political and International Studies, in a special meeting after the opening of this forum, which was held with the presence of the Foreign Minister of Armenia, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia, the Foreign Minister of Luxembourg and the former President of Lithuania, while presenting an explanation about the changes in the world order and its global and regional implications, referring to the importance of the South Caucasus region for the Islamic Republic of Iran and the traditional stabilizing role of Iran in this region, while welcoming the peace talks between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan and expressing hope for the signing of a peace agreement at the earliest possible time, emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran, while believing in removing obstructions in trade and people's transit routes, maintains the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the countries of the region and opposes any changes in the known borders and turning the region into a campaign stage for foreign powers. Dr. Sheikholeslami also called the Iran-Armenia border a border of friendship, peace, and life and emphasized the policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the 14th government to comprehensively develop cooperation between the two countries.
