In this meeting, Dr. Amir-Abdollahian, after hearing the views and opinions of the university professors regarding some foreign policy issues and developments in international relations, emphasized the importance of the diplomatic apparatus in communication, consultation, and exchange of views with elites and thinkers in the field of foreign policy and added: the view of professors in the field of international relations in the Islamic Republic of Iran is focused on national interests, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has always had a close relationship with the elites of this field and has used their expert opinions.
Explaining the general approach of the 13th government in the face of sanctions, on the one hand, to try to neutralize the sanctions, and at the same time, on the other hand, to keep open the window of negotiations to cancel the sanctions, the Minister of Foreign Affairs said: today, we are not at the point of a temporary agreement, and what happened was the dignified recovery of the assets of the Iranian nation on two occasions, from England and South Korea. He pointed out that the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to negotiate, maintaining the red lines, to realize the rights of the Iranian nation and to cancel the sanctions based on the September document, but it is not limited to that, and at the same time, it has seriously put the neutralization of sanctions on his agenda. The head of the diplomatic apparatus called the recent achievements of our country in increasing cooperation with regional and international organizations as an example of this approach and emphasized that the membership of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the BRICS group is a big step that shows the position and high capacities of the Islamic Republic of Iran among emerging world economies.
In another part of his speech, the head of the diplomatic apparatus discussed the policy of the 13th government in deepening regional cooperation and expanding relations with neighbors. By stating the latest developments in relations with Saudi Arabia, he explained the Ministry of Foreign Affairs plans to develop relations and increase cooperation levels with this country and other countries in the region.
Regarding Ukraine, the Minister of Foreign Affairs once again emphasized the logical policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which is to oppose war and destroy infrastructure, to emphasize the preservation of the territorial integrity of all countries, to pay attention to NATO's actions in creating and continuing the war, and the efforts of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the parties to achieve peace and pointed out, until this moment, the Ukrainian authorities have presented no document about the use of Iranian weapons in this war, and what is being said is only Western media propaganda with political goals against Iran country.
In this meeting, some of the general political directors of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed the audience about important developments in foreign policy in their area of responsibility, and the present professors also explained their views, opinions, and suggestions.
