Holding Specialized Meeting for Examining Climate Change and Paris Agreement

The meeting for examining the dimensions of the Paris Agreement about climate change, by attendance of the Foreign Ministry’s deputies, the deputies and general directors of the organizations and ministries related to this subject was held at the IPIS center, on Wednesday, February 2, 2022.

The meeting for examining the dimensions of the Paris Agreement about climate change, by attendance of the Foreign Ministry’s deputies, the deputies and general directors of the organizations and ministries related to this subject was held at the IPIS center, on Wednesday, February 2, 2022.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr.Dr.Sheikholeslami, President of IPIS, welcomed the representatives of various state departments and organizations who had attended the meeting, and pointed to the importance of the Paris Climate Agreement and expressed hope that the specialized meeting could pave the way for developing the Islamic Republic of Iran’s international cooperation. In the following part, Mr.Najafi, Legal and International Deputy of Foreign Ministry, made a speech pointing to the international developments occurred in the Climate area and counted the Paris Agreement as the acme of cooperation in recent years. He emphasized that according to the Paris Agreement the countries committed to cooperate in reduction of pollutants on the planet. He expressed hope that the departments and organizations inside the country could identify the barriers and problems in the way of the said agreement, and examine the executive dimensions of the agreement.

In the following part, the members entered specialized discussions and exchanged their views concerning the Paris agreement and the impacts of climate change on domestic and international levels.
