The Islamabad Regional Dialogue was inaugurated with a speech by the Foreign Minister of Pakistan amidst heightened tensions between India and Pakistan. In this forum, senior Pakistani officials and diplomats, along with representatives from regional countries such as China, Russia, Turkey, and Central Asia, discussed topics including aligning diplomacy with development goals, the necessity of regional cooperation to counter climate threats, the U.S. policy towards South Asia, China's approach to regional modernization, Pakistan-Afghanistan relations, and Pakistan-Iran-Central Asia cooperation in the field of regional connectivity. Dr. Damanpak Jami spoke in detail on the panel related to connectivity, under the topic "Iran's Neighborhood Policy and Its Role in Eurasian Connectivity," discussing the importance of transit corridors through Iran, the complementary role of Chabahar and Gwadar ports, and the issue of pipelines.

In another part of the IPIS delegation's visit to Pakistan, Mr. Mohammad Javad Shariati, a senior expert at the center, participated in a one-day international conference held by the Africa, Middle East & America Center (AMCA) at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI), in cooperation with the Pakistan office of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES), under the title "Pakistan and the Region: Strengthening Regional Connectivity, Non-Traditional Threats, Combating and Countering Terrorism." He delivered a speech in its third panel.

Speakers at this conference emphasized the urgent need to address non-traditional security threats, particularly climate change, which leads to consequences such as floods and air pollution in South Asia. They also highlighted the human and economic impacts of these threats (including food insecurity, displacement, and instability) and stressed the necessity of regional cooperation and the creation of sustainable green partnerships. The need for urgent and collective global action and the importance of adhering to international law to ensure stability were underscored, with a warning that undermining international law would frustrate efforts to tackle these complex challenges. Discussions also extended to the impact of digitalization, demographic shifts, and political history on radicalism, with calls for collective global action to create inclusive education and enhance resilience.

On the sidelines of these events, the representatives of the Center for Political and International Studies held separate meetings with senior managers of four important Pakistani think tanks and research centers, including the Institute of Regional Studies (IRS), the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI), the Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI), and the Centre for International Strategic Studies (CISS). In these meetings, the parties discussed the implementation of Memoranda of Understanding for cooperation and other aspects of strengthening think tank and research collaboration with the IPIS.
