<p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">A joint round table of Institute for Political and International Studies and the Indonesian Council on World Affairs (ICWA) entitled empowerment of the Global South in the Middle East and Asia Pacific was held on Monday, August 12, 2024 with the presence of a delegation from Institute for Political and International Studies headed by Dr. Shaykh al-Islami, President of Institute for Political and International Studies and a group of former ambassadors and Indonesian diplomats.</p> <p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">In this round table, the delegation of Institute for Political and International Studies explained the views of the Islamic Republic of Iran towards the Global South and its empowerment strategies with an emphasis on West Asia and Asia-Pacific regions, as well as the developments of international peace and security in the region, and regarding the models of strengthening the bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Iran and Indonesia, he put forward some axes and the Indonesian side expressed its opinions on the same issues.</p> <p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">At the end of this round table, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the heads of the Indonesian Council on World Affairs (ICWA) and Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS) think tanks.</p>
