The commemoration of the World Day of Peace 2024 was held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, in Jinan City, Shandong Province, China, with delegations from different countries. The event was organized by the Chinese People's Association for Peace and Disarmament (CPAPD) in cooperation with the People's Government of Shandong Province.

The opening ceremony began on the morning of September 19, 2024, at the Shandong Hotel in Jinan with the presence of national and political officials and the speech of Mr. Han Zheng, Vice President of China. In this ceremony, Mr. Guterres, the Secretary General of the United Nations, also delivered a speech (via video message). Among the other speakers of the opening ceremony are the Vice President of Laos, Samon Phlesna, the former President of South Africa, Kgalema Motlanthe, the former President of Colombia, Ernesto Samper Pizano, the former President of the Swiss Confederation, Ulrich Maurer, the Secretary of the Communist Party of Shandong Province, Lin Wu, the President of Chinese People's Association for Peace and Disarmament, Ma Biao.

Mr. Han Zheng, Vice President of China, referring to facing unprecedented global challenges, considered China's vision of building a society with a common future for humanity along with three initiatives, including global development, global security, and global civilization, to inject confidence and momentum for progressive global peace, prosperity, and common development. He asked all parties to follow the correct historical path and work together for effective interaction towards creating a society with a common future for humanity.

The conference continued on the 20th to the 21st of September 2024 with the departure to Weifang city and its economic development area in this city.

Mr. Mohammad Sahebi, the representative of our country, in the specialized meeting of this ceremony, while referring to global developments, gave explanations regarding the recent regional developments and the Gaza crisis and the behavior based on the double standard of Western countries in this regard, and he emphasized the necessity of defining international mechanisms to ensure world peace by China with the support of other aligned countries, which was welcomed. He also pointed out the sufferings that occurred during the Gaza crisis for the Palestinians and severely criticized the silence and inaction of the Western governments in this regard.

It seems that in order to strengthen extroversion and positive intervention in global developments, the Chinese government intends to provide the grounds for this in terms of international public opinion. The words of the vice president of China can be considered as an emphasis for China to accept more officials in international developments.
