Roundtable on "New Models of International Cooperation: Multiple Perspectives on the Belt and Road Initiative"

The Roundtable entitled “New Models of International Cooperation: Multiple Perspectives on the Belt and Road Initiative” was held on May 31st 2017, in Dialogue of Civilizations Research Institute (DOC) in Berlin. Dr. Mojgan Golchin, Head of East Asia and Pacific Studies Department at IPIS and Dr. Parisa ShahMohammadi, IPIS Researcher, attended the roundtable and delivered speech. During the event, Dr. Vladimir Yakunin, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, DOC Research Institute (Berlin), delivered a keynote speech and afterwards the followings delivered theirs: Prof. Zhang Yuyan, Senior Fellow and Director General of the Institute of World Economics and Politics; Dr. Yu Honqyuan, Professor and Director of Institute of Comparative Politics and Public Policy, Shanghai Institute of International Studies; Prof. Yuefen Li, Special Advisor on Economics and Development Finance, South Centre; Ms. Eva Kaili, Member of the European Parliament for Greece, Chair of the Delegation for Relations with the NATO Parliamentary Assembly; Dr. Thorsten Jelinek, Director of Taihe Global Institute, Europe Center; Ms. Gaukhar Nurgalieva, Head of Eurasia Studies Lab, Moscow School of Management Skolkovo; Dr. Oleg Remyga, Head of China Studies Lab, Moscow School of Management Skolkovo; Dr. Wang Hui, Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Hertie School of Governance; Mr. Dimitris Psarrakis, Economic and Monetary Policy Advisor at the European Parliament; Prof. Biliang Hu, Dean Emerging Markets Institute (EMI ), Director, The Belt and Road Institute (BRI), Beijing Normal University (BNU). Belt – Road Initiative that was proposed in 2013 by Xi Jin Ping, is considered as China’s foreign policy spearhead and is known as a regional and interregional issue. Therefore the Research Institutes on International Studies are holding roundtables and doing researches around this subject.The mentioned roundtable in Berlin was held in an endeavor to discuss about different perspectives, especially focused on the technical subjects and strengthening the regional interactions by the means of the Belt – Road Initiative.
