Shanghai Cooperation Organization Forum in Tashkent

On May 11th -12th 2017, Tashkent hosted the 12th Shanghai Cooperation Organization Forum. The event was organized and held by the Institute for Strategic and Inter-Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and by the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan as well as SCO secretariat. The SCO Forum was attended by delegates and experts, including observers, dialogue partners and SCO member-states. During eight plenary sessions, the participants exchanged their opinions on issues including Development policy Opportunities and Challenges, Development, economic cooperation as well as transport and communications cooperation and the SCOs future development. Iranian delegation from IPIS including Mohammad Kazem Sajjadpour (PhD) President of IPIS and Mr. Pakparvar Director of Central Asia and Caucasus Studies Department in IPIS attended the meeting and discussed the position of I.R.IRAN in the organization, its opportunities and challenges. In the sidelines of the meeting Dr. Sajjadpour met with the SCO member-states delegates, and discussed about future cooperation, he also met former foreign minister and new president of Institute for Strategic and Inter-Regional Studies of Uzbekistan
